As a SQL Server BI Developer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining Business Intelligence (BI) solutions using Microsoft SQL Server stack including SSIS, SSRS, and SSAS. The ideal candidate should have strong experience in data modeling, ETL development, report development, and analysis services. Additionally, familiarity with JSON data import, Jira, Tabular modeling, Power BI, and GitLab will be advantageous.
*Key Responsibilities:*
– Design, develop, and maintain ETL processes using SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) for extracting, transforming, and loading data from various sources into the data warehouse.
– Develop and optimize reports and dashboards using SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) to provide actionable insights to stakeholders.
– Design and implement multidimensional and tabular models using SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS) for efficient data analysis and reporting.
– Import and integrate JSON data into existing BI solutions, ensuring data integrity and performance.
– Collaborate with cross-functional teams including business analysts, data engineers, and data scientists to understand data requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
– Utilise project management tools such as Jira for task management, issue tracking, and project documentation.
– Develop interactive dashboards and visualizations using Power BI to facilitate data-driven decision-making.
– Implement version control using GitLab for managing BI artifacts and ensuring code integrity and collaboration.
Qualifications:
– Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
– Proven experience as a SQL Server BI Developer or similar role.
– Strong proficiency in SQL programming and experience working with Microsoft SQL Server.
– Extensive experience in developing ETL processes using SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS).
– Proficiency in creating reports and dashboards using SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS).
– Hands-on experience in designing and implementing multidimensional and tabular models using SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS).
– Familiarity with JSON data import techniques and integration into BI solutions.
– Knowledge of Tabular modeling techniques for optimizing data querying and analysis.
– Experience with version control systems, preferably GitLab.
– Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
– Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
– Relevant certifications such as MCSE: Business Intelligence, MCSA: SQL Server, or equivalent.
– Experience working in an Agile development environment.

– Writing complex ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) code to extract data from various sources, transform it, and load it into target systems.
– Building scalable data solutions to support business needs.
– Conducting data modeling, ensuring data integrity, and optimizing data performance.
– Implementing and managing data warehousing solutions.
– Utilising data analytics techniques to derive insights and support decision-making processes.
Skills, Qualifications, and Experience Required:
– Proficiency in Data Engineering and ETL methodologies (SSIS, Azure Data Factory).
– Strong understanding of Data Modeling and Data Warehousing principles.
– Experience with Data Analytics tools and techniques.
– Experience with SQL Server and Power BI technologies.
